The Yoga Empowerment Service Plus (YES+!) course is being offered by the 'Art of Living Club @ UPENN' in response to a specific need for stress-relief and increased productivity and well-being for young adults on college campuses and in the workforce.
YES+ is an Art of Living Workshop specially designed and power-packed for young adults. It is an innovative life skills training program that empowers young adults to develop a strong, energetic healthy body and a relaxed, stress-free mind. It expands your horizon, inspiring you to take responsibility for your life and your community. YES+ develops your ability to recognize and cultivate your hidden strengths, sharpens your awareness and heightens your sense of connectedness with others. This intense 30 hours program (spanning 5 consecutive days) also includes practical sessions that help one combat fatigue, monotony and tension.
Whether its at school or at work, YES+ provides awareness about the patterns we fall into in our daily lives and helps us break from them so that we can maximize our potential by living in the present moment
Contents of the Course:
• Rip roaring fun (RRF) • Concept shattering experiences • Continuous learning
Main Aspects of the Program:
1) Physical – Challenging yoga exercises and innovative breathing techniques.
2) Mental – Practical knowledge and interactive processes to improve memory, concentration & focus.
3) Social - Experiential processes to develop problem solving strategies and social skills; Interactive processes to develop leadership and life skills; Teamwork exercises to teach cooperation and conflict resolution.
4) Emotional – Group discussions designed to help one feel at ease in challenging situations, and increase confidence and inner strength to better handle criticism and peer pressure.
